We have been invited to spend three days at Los Suenos in April. We’ll likely fish while there. We’ve never been to Costa Rica and would like to extend our trip by a week or so in order to see more of the country. What 2 additional places would you recommend we visit to round out our stay? We’re interested in a diversity of environments/experiences. We enjoy hiking, snorkeling, nature/wildlife, music, and food. Thanks for your help.

Hi brashalena,
That’s great that you will be staying at Los Suenos. It sounds like you would also enjoy neighboring Jaco, which has one of the best restaurant scenes in Costa Rica and often times has live music too. Since that area is centrally located on the Pacific coast, you could easily go north or south for the remaining time. North, you could go to Monteverde and the Nicoya Peninsula (Montezuma maybe) or somewhere in Guanacaste (Samara, Brasilito, etc). La Fortuna is also a popular option. South, you could explore Manuel Antonio, the Costa Ballena region, and/or Drake Bay. These are just some options of course, hopefully it gives you some ideas.
