I will be traveling in Costa Rica the first two weeks of August with my 14 year old granddaughter and her 15 year old friend.  I am exploring using private transport for the longer drives between locations so I can relax and enjoy the scenery, and maybe to make some interesting stops along the way.  Can you recommend some places to stop during these drives?
SJO to La Pavona
La Pavona to Arenal
Monteverde to Manual Antonio

Hi Trink,
Thanks for checking out our website. Here are some ideas off the top of my head. We usually include more options and detail for our  Itinerary Help clients but maybe this will get you started.

SJO to La PavonaBraulio Carillo National Park has some short trails, there is also a sky tram nearby that the kids might like.
La Pavona to Arenal – One of the best waterfalls in Costa Rica is on the way to Arenal, called Catarata Del Toro.
Monteverde to Manual Antonio – Stop at the Tarcoles River bridge to see the giant crocodiles hanging out below.
Manual Antonio to SJO. – Mostly highway, but you could take a slight detour and go to another waterfall, Los Chorros. Or do something in San Jose that day: How to spend 1-2 days in San Jose
