Hello. I love this site! Super helpful but I need a little help. We are planning a 2 week trip in January. We don;t want to be on the move too much and prefer to stay in 2 locations for the trip (not including if an airport hotel is needed). We are thinking that we\\\’d like to split the time between the forest and the beach. Can you recommend a couple of locations that are on the same side of the country that would provide some day trip opportunities? Thank you very much! Dave

Hi dspring,
A couple of common mountain areas are Monteverde and La Fortuna (LF is not actually mountainous but sits inland and has the Arenal Volcano to hike around). You could pair one of those with a beach town in either Guanacaste (check out Tamarindo, Brasilito, Samara, Nosara, Playa Hermosa…) or go down to the Central Pacific coast (Jaco, Manuel Antonio, or even the Costa Ballena). Hope this gives you some ideas.
