We are flying into San Jose and then are staying near La Fortuna for a few nights and then going to the Carribean coast near Puerto Viejo de Talamanca for a few nights. Are there any cloud forests, chocolate tours or coffee tours you would recommend near either of those areas as we travel?

Hi Marie,
Yes, we know of a great coffee tour from La Fortuna that visits a small organic coffee farm. There are also two different chocolate tours/demonstrations in La Fortuna. One is more authentic and the other is more entertaining (good if you have kids). There is also a great chocolate tour in Puerto Viejo called Caribeans. For cloud forest, the closest thing to those destinations would probably be the Rio Celeste Waterfall hike, it has a similar environment to the cloud forest (moss covered trees and similar wildlife/birds) and is a good day trip from La Fortuna.
