Once again, Two Weeks in Costa Rica set us up with a pro. Dionosio was a real expert. This is a small reserve, but beautifully maintained. The owner even took an interest, and directed us to where he had seen a sloth earlier. Our guide talked about the plants and flowers, we saw insects, lizards, birds, rodents, and several sloths in different trees throughout, even a baby. Dionosio used his scope and helped us with photos that look like National Geographic entries. We went early in the morning, and had the reserve to ourselves and spent almost 1-1/2 hours exploring, though it’s not a large place. After, our guide took us to an open-air restaurant owned by the tour company where they served us a “snack” of cheese tortilla and fresh fruit and juice. This was a beautiful place as well. The tour was well-organized and we felt it was well worth the money. There are so many tour choices on the internet when planning a trip like this, and we didn’t want to run the risk of being disappointed. I highly recommend Two Weeks in Costa Rica for setting us up with an excellent tour operator.

I would definitely recommend this tour, it’s on an organic farm/garden and the owner goes out every morning to look for sloths & puts a marker in the ground. Diego showed us 3 x2 toed sloths & 1x 3 toed, 2 sloths even moved, scratched the sloth moths away and looked at us!!! We were so pleased and Diego took videos & photos on our phones through his scope. We could also look through his scope for more detailed views. We also saw a blue jean frog, tiger heron, northern jacanar, a colony of bats under a large leaf & lizards.
Diego cut a ripe cacao fruit off a tree and split it open so we could eat the fruit inside which covers the cacao itself.
Afterwards we had empanadas, fruit & juice. We then had the option of seeing a dead venomous snake which had been killed by one of the farm workers, it was just over a metre long.
All in all a very enjoyable morning!

The guide was awesome. We were fortunate to get really great guides from booking tours on this website. Last stop at the farm was epic! We show so many wildlife
So many gray photos. Even if you are not taking photos, the variety of birds to watch was amazing. I could sit there all day and wished I did! Highly recommend!
