Selvatura Guided Hanging Bridges Tour
Hanging bridges are a unique way to explore the cloud forest. Selvatura has 8 hanging bridges ranging from 180-515 feet (55-157 meters). The main focus of the tour is enjoying the amazing panoramic views of the cloud forest canopy from above. With a little luck, you should be able to see some wildlife too.
Many kinds of birds can be spotted and wildlife like bats, tarantulas, butterflies, and various kinds of lizards.
Between the bridges, you’ll pass through lush cloud forest along a fairly flat, well-maintained trail. The naturalist guide sets a comfortable pace for everyone in the group and makes stops to teach you about the cloud forest and its flora and fauna.
The hike is about 2 miles (3 km) and takes 2-2.5 hours.
*This tour also can be booked as a combo with ziplining.

Reptile and Amphibian Exhibit ($25/adult, $22.50/student 12-18, $17.50/child 4-11): Snakes, geckos, frogs, other kinds of reptiles and amphibians found throughout Costa Rica can be seen. The guide will take you around to the terrariums and explain each species and its habitat.

Great pairing with Santa Elena Cloud Forest due to the close proximity (and slow and bumpy ride up the mountain). Guides are provided by Selvatura and most go on their own (we ended up with a private tour).
Our guide, Lucia, was younger than the others (3 years experience) but greatly added to the experience. She taught us about the park, hanging bridges and cloud forest while spotting wildlife along the way. Highlights included tracking a bellbird (not seen) and a quetzal (seen).

Doing the hanging bridges with a guide is the way to go. They know where animals and birds are. They walk these trails every single day and it shows in their knowledge. It poured rain on us that day but we continued on. There were 8 people in the group and every single question was answered. This facility not only had hanging bridges but zip lining too. We did not do other activities. All facilities were kept very clean and well organized. We would highly recommend this tour.
