where-to-live

April Corvi asked 6 years ago

We were in Costa Rica in 2013, we married there.  We went on a bus tour in the Northern part of Costa Rica & absolutely loved it, a lot more then the HOT HOT HOT area of Manual Antonio.  If we had to drive an hour or hour and a half to get to the beach we would be okay with that.  Would like to live in an area where the weather is pretty much the same 365 days per year.  We are in our late 50\\\’s & mid 60\\\’s, would like to meet expats in the area that we would decide to live also.  Any suggestions?  We would need a furnished house, prefered over an apartment.  We really don\\\’t want to spend anymore then $500-$650 per month on a place. Thanks April

Hi April,
You could check out Atenas, which is known for having one of the best and consistent climates. Or San Isidro de El General, in the Southern Zone is also about an hour from the beach. It gets hot right in town, but the surrounding hills are cooler. Unfortunately there isn’t much in the Guanacaste area that stays cooler and is a short drive to the coast.
