My husband is allergic to all tree nuts and my daughter is allergic to tree nuts and peanuts. Their allergies include pine nuts and coconut. Judging from my research, it doesn’t seem like there’s a huge prevalence of nut-based foods in CR. Any words of caution or entrees to avoid? Any thoughts on ways to communicate our food restrictions to the restaurant staff? I considered bringing a list of the Spanish names for all the nuts they are allergic to.
