Hi I need to go to Nicaragua from Costa Rica. Should i go to liberia from la fortuna and then take a bus from their Nicaragua, Granada. Or should i go to San Jose and then take tica bus, but for that I will have to San jose a day before as all the buses travels early in morning. Please suggest.

Taking the bus to Nicaragua from La Fortuna wouldn’t be that bad. You would go from La Fortuna to Tilarán, Tilarán to Cañas, Canas to Liberia, and then Liberia to Peñas Blancas. In total it would be about 6.5 hours with 3 bus changes, if you caught the early 7am bus.
