Hello!
I get to come to Costa Rica for the 1st time, this month. I will be in Monteverde in the days before my end of trip flight out of SJO. That flight leaves 0505 on Feb 25.
Is getting back to SJO/Alajuela usually a straightforward process, or are there often delays? I’m wondering if I should book a seat on the Feb 24 afternoon Interbus, or if it would be smarter to book the morning Interbus?

Hi Dee,
You should be fine going the afternoon before your flight and staying over near SJO that night. If there are any delays you’d still get there by late afternoon/early evening. Normally there wouldn’t be anything that would make you get back extremely late in the night. The afternoon shuttle from Monteverde leaves at around 12:30 p.m. and arrives near the airport around 4:00 p.m. (without any major delays and depending on the specific hotel location).
