I’m planning a tour of places in Central America that are between 4500 feet and 6000 feet altitude with an idea to visit for several months a year. I know that the central region going from Panama through San Jose and up to the northern border has the area I’m interested in. Any ideas about cities of moderate population that would be good starting points for exploring?

Hi Lee,
Most of the more populated towns at higher elevation range would be around Costa Rica’s Central Valley. This is basically the greater San Jose area. There are a lot around the 2000-3000 ft range but not too many up at 4500. Cartago might be a good one to look at.
