Many thanks for your two wonderful books and this helpful website! We are planning a 14 day honeymoon between January and March of 2019. We would like to go to La Fortuna, Monteverde, Tortuguero, and the Osa Peninsula. We were thinking of visiting them in that order but would like a second opinion. As well, we’re not sure how to get from Monteverde to Tortuguero. Any advice you have would be great–thanks!

Hi Diana,
Here’s an order that might work a little smoother. San Jose to Tortuguero to La Fortuna to Monteverde to Osa Peninsula. Tortuguero is best accessed by starting off in San Jose so you could go straight there after an overnight near the city. See our Getting to Tortuguero Post. Then Tortuguero to La Fortuna is a common route, and so is La Fortuna to Monteverde. The longest leg of the trip will be from Monteverde to the Osa, but it’s not a horrible drive down the coast (mostly highway). Hope this helps and you have a great honeymoon!
