good day-
We are first time visitors to Costa Rica and are traveling with our 8 y.o. twin boys. We already secured accomodations at Dreams in the GUanacaste Region. We would like to see some volcanic activity if possible but after reading books and posts I am concerned that we and my boys would not be able to hike an 8 mile loop. Do you have any recommendations for a NP in that region that is “kid friendly”?

We are using your waterfall recommendations from this site. Also, do you have any recommendations for a float trip – EASY not white water for a day trip?

Hi belmontclbryant,
You can visit Rincon de la Vieja National Park and see some volcanic vents, bubbling mud pots, a mini volcano, etc. The Las Pailas Trail, where most of that is found, is only a 3 km (2 mile) loop. You might have been reading about some of the longer trails there, one of which goes to a waterfall. But the volcanic sites are pretty close to the entrance. Hope that helps.
