I will be traveling with a group of friends ( there be 4 or 5 of us) . we will be staying in Reserva Conchal. We don’t have a lot of time but will like to definitely see one of the volcanoes in the area. Which one will be the closest to the area will be staying. We will like to visit one of the national parks if possible, but we don’t want to travel a long distance as we will need to hire private transportation to move around.

Hi Lissette,
The closest volcano is also a national park called Rincon de la Vieja. It is about a 1.5 hour drive from Playa Conchal and tours leave from the Guanacaste beaches all the time. This volcano isn’t the cone-shaped type like you would find in La Fortuna/Arenal but it is pretty cool in its own way with steam vents and volcanic mud pots. Hope this helps.
