Sunset Sails Catamaran Tour
We have done several catamaran tours in Manuel Antonio and Sunset Sails is one of our favorites.
The experience with Sunset Sails is much more intimate than some of the other catamaran options. The boat itself is smaller (49′) and it’s a family-owned company. The father is the captain and his friendly sons are the crew. They take you out along the beautiful coastline of Manuel Antonio to the marine portion of the national park, then to Playa Biesanz for some snorkeling or swimming. Note that snorkel conditions in Manuel Antonio are not the best but it’s still fun to jump in the water to swim and casually snorkel.
The on-board chef prepares a delicious meal of fresh mahi-mahi, rice, salad, and sautéed vegetables. Complimentary cocktails are available throughout the trip – be sure to try the mango punch!

Stephen Frey (Verified Customer) –
Nice day (morning) out on the water for a different view of the area. Fun social event with a nice lunch as well. Go for the sun and views as the snorkeling was pretty mediocre (murky water and crowded). Good family activity from what I could tell.
Friendly and helpful staff.
Note: they admit there is no “sailing” as they are using a motorized pontoon if that matters.

Everything about this cruise was fantastic. The weather was perfect, the crew (especially Kevin) was welcoming and professional and the boat was in great shape. We saw a whale, dolphins, lots of bird life and we had a refreshing snorkeling time. Worth every penny.
