Enjoy door-to-door shuttle van service from La Pavona (Tortuguero Boat Docks) to the San Jose Airport (SJO). A professional driver will pick you up at La Pavona Boat Dock.
The shuttle ride is approximately 2.5 to 3 hours long and up to 1 hour is included for stops to use the restroom, have a quick meal, take pictures, etc.
Important: We recommend selecting a pick up time that will have you arriving at the airport 3 hours before your flight.
*Public boats depart from Tortuguero six times a day (5:00 a.m., 7:00 a.m., 9:00 a.m., 11:00 a.m. 1:00 p.m., and 3:00 p.m.). It is best to buy your tickets in advance (the day before) at the small office/window near the docks. The trip to La Pavona takes about 1.5 hours or sometimes longer, depending on water levels . Please schedule your shuttle accordingly.
*Public boat cost is not included and you must pay for it separately: ₡3,000 (around $6) per person, one way. Luggage goes in a separate boat, which follows along, and is paid for separately when you board. Each suitcase is ₡1000 (around $2) per bag.
