Crocodile Safari Boat Tour
A unique activity in the Jaco area is a crocodile safari boat tour along the Tarcoles River. This river and mangrove system is teeming with crocodiles and has lots of birds too. We work with a great company with knowledgeable naturalist guides that will teach you about all the wildlife you see.
In addition to crocodiles, many types of birds can be spotted, including Magnificent Frigatebirds, kingfisher, herons, wood storks, egrets, Roseate Spoonbills, Scarlet Macaw parrots, and lots more.
The company provides a nice booklet with pictures showing the birds and animals you’ll get to see on the tour.
The crocodile safari tour is on a comfortable covered boat.
This tour starts from the town of Tarcoles, about 30 minutes from Jaco. You can meet for the tour or transportation is available from the Jaco area for an additional $25 per person.
Cost: $31 per person adults, $27 per person children ages 4-12. Rates plus 13% tax. Children under 4 are free.
