Soar through Monteverde’s cloud forest on one of Costa Rica’s best zipline tours!
Located about 20 minutes from downtown Santa Elena, Treetopia Park (formerly Sky Adventures Monteverde) has become one of the premier adventure destinations in the Monteverde cloud forest. The park offers a high adrenaline zipline tour with panoramic views, hanging bridges through the cloud forest, and the only aerial tram in Monteverde. Founded over 20 years ago, the facility combines professional safety standards with thrilling adventure.
The zipline takes you up the mountain to the highest point on the property, then back down on 7 cables. Unlike most zipline tours in Costa Rica, Treetopia uses a hands-free pulley system with automatic braking. This makes it a great option for kids and first-timers.
Save $10-13 per person on zipline packages and up to $10 per person on the hanging bridges-tram combo when booking through Two Weeks in Costa Rica. These savings are automatically applied when you book through our site. Learn more about our travel agency.
We have been to Treetopia Park a few times and it’s always a great way to spend the day. In our opinion, it’s one of the best places in Costa Rica for ziplining and hanging bridges. The facility is modern and the company is very safety conscious. No matter which adventure you choose, the staff is friendly and helpful. Plus the views of the cloud forest from high up on the bridges or zipline cables are outstanding!

Unlike many zipline tours in Costa Rica, Treetopia uses a hands-free pulley system. You hold a pulley instead of wearing a glove and touching the cable. They use automatic braking (no manual braking).
Minimum age: 5. No minimum height.
Maximum weight: 300 lbs (136 kg). Harness measurements: Maximum waist 46 inches.
Yes, young children may zipline alone if the lead guide deems it appropriate. The decision will depend on the child’s weight and specific weather conditions at the time. Otherwise, it will be at the guide’s discretion to determine who will accompany the child on the cable (a guide or family member). We cover this more in our post about our experience zip lining at Treetopia.
No problem! We have arranged tours for people where only part of the group ziplines and the rest joins them for the hanging bridges or tram. Just make your booking requests separately through our website and note that you’re traveling together. We’ll let the tour company know and make one reservation for your whole group.
Yes, Treetopia is one of the best options for people with limited mobility who are looking to explore Monteverde’s cloud forests. The aerial tram and a portion of the hanging bridges trail are wheelchair accessible.
Free lockers are available to store bags, phones, cameras, and other items.
Yes. Add a set lunch for $20 per person on arrival or order from the restaurant menu. The restaurant has traditional Costa Rican food, international food, and options for kids.
Shared round-trip transportation from Monteverde hotels and vacation rentals costs $12 per person plus taxes. Free parking is available if you drive.
If you need transportation, you can request it when you make your order with us. Treetopia will let us know the exact pickup time at your hotel or vacation rental. For the return trip, Treetopia has a set schedule. Shuttles depart from Treetopia 9 times a day at 9:45 am, 10:45 am, 11:45 am, 12:30 pm, 1:30 pm, 2:30 pm, 3:40 pm, 4:30 pm, and 5:05 pm.
The large private reserve has howler monkeys, white-faced monkeys, sloths, birds including hummingbirds and the famous Resplendent Quetzal, snakes, and interesting insects like tarantulas. Seeing wildlife isn’t guaranteed, but if you go slowly or get a naturalist guide for the hanging bridges ($10 pp), you’ll increase your chances.
The zipline tour requires moderate fitness, but there’s minimal walking between platforms (there’s only one short walk). The hanging bridges are easy to moderate in difficulty. Between the suspension bridges, you’ll walk along a well-maintained trail with no steps. The aerial tram is good for anyone, including people with limited mobility.
For safety reasons, ziplining is not recommended for: (1) people with back, neck, bone, muscle, or heart problems, (2) people with recent surgeries (within one year – especially surgeries on legs, feet, knees, abdomen, back, neck, hands, arms, and wrists). (3) pregnant women, (4) people with any medical or health condition that may affect balance, coordination, or decision-making during the activity.
Yes, you can add a naturalist guide for $10 per person. When reserving through our site, just use the add-a-guide button when selecting the number of people.
Guides are not absolutely necessary if your main goal is to just appreciate the cloud forest environment and enjoy nice views. A guide is there to help you spot animals and birds and teach you about the ecosystem.
Lightweight pants, closed-toe shoes (sneakers or hiking shoes), sunscreen, insect repellent, straps for prescription glasses, and a raincoat. If you’re ziplining or taking the tram, we recommend a long-sleeved shirt and jacket as the temperature cools significantly at the top of the mountain. Treetopia provides all zipline safety equipment.
GoPros are available to rent for around $40. If you have your own GoPro, you can bring it. They have mounts for the helmets. A professional photographer will also take photos during your tour, which you can review and purchase after for $15 per person. We have found the quality of photos to be very good. Personal cameras and phones should be stored in the free lockers for safety.
You will receive a full refund minus a small fee as long as you cancel with at least 48 hours’ notice. Details will be on your order confirmation. Learn more about our booking policies.
Book at least two weeks before your trip, especially during high season (December-April). Treetopia Park is popular and can sell out. If you’re visiting over Christmas/New Years or Easter Week, we recommend booking at least a month in advance.
