Zipline-ATV Combo Tour at Vista Los Suenos Adventure Park – Jaco
Overview
This tour combines two exciting adventures, ziplining and ATV. On the zipline tour, you’ll fly through the rainforest canopy, getting to enjoy some gorgeous views along the way. The ATV tour will take you to a scenic ocean viewpoint and along a lush, jungle trail to swim in waterfalls. Each tour is about 2 hours.
Vista Los Suenos is a popular adventure park located just outside Jaco (about a 10 minute drive).
Zipline Tour
The zipline tour starts with meeting your experienced, bilingual guides and getting fitted with equipment. From there, one of the guides will give a safety talk and show you the proper positioning. You’ll then take a short tractor ride up the mountain to the first platform.
With thick rainforest all around, the bilingual guides will clip you in and let you take off on the first cable. In total, the tour has 10 cables and 12 platforms. The longest line is 2,400 feet (732 meters), the longest in the area. You can even go upside down on one of the cables (optional).
Throughout the course, you’ll get to enjoy some amazing rainforest views as you zip through the treetops. On some of the lines, you can also see the ocean.
The guides are really fun, while also emphasizing safety. They keep group sizes small so you’re not waiting in long lines. There are plenty of guides to make sure everyone is safe and feels comfortable.
There is minimal walking on the tour.

ATV TourÂ
The ATV tour begins with meeting your bilingual guide who will give you all the equipment you need and get you acquainted with your vehicle. Before starting the tour, you’ll do a short practice course on the property.
Once comfortable, you’ll head on the dirt paths within the large property, riding up the mountain. At the top, you’ll get to enjoy some beautiful ocean views. There are a couple of spots to take photos here, including a cool wooden sculpture you can pose in.
After the lookout, you’ll drive back down the mountain and go on some back roads and jungle trails to a river and waterfall. Along the way, you’ll pass through the tranquil countryside and see farm fields. You’ll then get to ride on off-road trails through gorgeous, thick jungle. If it’s rainy, you’ll splash through some puddles and small rivers along the way. Rainy season in Jaco is from approximately May through end of November.
Once at the river, you’ll park your ATV and head on foot for the 5-10 minute walk to the waterfalls. The tour company has built elevated walkways, which makes access fairly easy.
You can explore the two waterfalls and swimming holes. There’s one small platform about 10 feet (3 meters) for jumping and the lower waterfall has a small natural slide.
After spending about 15 minutes at the waterfalls, you will head back to Vista Los Suenos where you’ll be given a fresh fruit snack to enjoy.
When we did this tour, we found the guide to be very helpful and safe. The route includes a short stretch on the public road en route to the waterfall.
The ATVs are Yamaha 450cc and 350cc.
Accessibility: The trail to the waterfall is mostly flat but there is one set of stairs to climb to get to the pools (around 15 stairs). This connects to a series of concrete walkways. Once at the waterfalls, you walk down to the natural pools on the rocks. These can be slippery so we recommend water shoes.

Zipline + Double ATV (2 people on ATV; passenger must be at least 9 years old): $185 total for 2 people plus 13% tax

Transportation is available for an additional $6 pp.
Weight Restriction (Zipline): 250 lbs (115 kg). If you are more than 6 feet (1.8 meters) tall, you can most likely do the tour even if you exceed the weight limit. You just need to be able to fit into the harness.
There is no minimum weight requirement.
Lunch: Lunch is available for $20 pp; you can add this directly when you arrive on the day of the tour. During high season (approx. December – April), it’s a buffet with a variety of salads, traditional Costa Rican food, grilled meat, fish, and vegetarian options. Includes a fresh fruit drink, coffee, and dessert. During low season, you can order a la carte off the menu.
ATV Damage, Credit Card Hold, and Insurance
You are responsible for any damaged caused to the ATV during the tour.
A credit card (Visa, Mastercard, or AMEX) is required for the ATV vehicle deposit. The tour company will place a $1,000 USD hold on your card for 1-5 vehicles; this amount is fully refundable after the tour if there are no incidents. Alternatively, you can purchase Damage Waiver insurance for peace of mind ($25 per ATV (non-refundable)).Â
Restrictions
The minimum age to drive an ATV is 18 years old. Minimum age to ride as a passenger is 9.
ATV routes may vary depending on the driver’s skill level.
Ziplining is not recommended for: (1) people with back, neck, bone, muscle, or heart problems, (2) people with recent surgeries (within one year – especially surgeries on legs, feet, knees, abdomen, back, neck, hands, arms, and wrists), (3) pregnant women, (4) people with any medical or health condition that may affect balance, coordination, or decision-making during the activity.
