Whale Watching Tour – Uvita
Uvita is one of the best places in the world for whale watching. Every year, humpback whales migrate to its warm waters to breed and raise their young. On a whale watching tour, you’ll get the chance to see some of these amazing creatures.
The boat leaves from Marino Ballena National Park in Uvita so you’ll get to see the famous Whale Tail and small islands offshore. The views are very pretty of the mountains and coast.
The tour also has a snorkeling component (dry season only – December to February), but conditions aren’t always the best so it’s more about trying to find whales, dolphins, turtles, etc. and enjoying the ride.
There is no dock or marina in Uvita so you will wade through the shallow ocean water to board the boat. The staff will help usher you on.
Best Times for Whale Watching in Uvita: Mid-July through October (largest migration) and late December through January (smaller migration).
