This tour combines both nature and adventure with 3 activities. It includes:
- Entrance to the hanging bridges for a self-guided walk through the cloud forest
- Zipline tour on 13 cables
- Short guided tour of the Sloth Sanctuary
Zipline Tour
What to Expect
The Selvatura zipline course has 13 cables, a Tarzan Swing (optional), and the chance to do a Superman line where you go headfirst (optional add-on), almost flying through the sky. The tour takes you through the lush jungle, providing incredible views of the cloud forest.
The cables vary in length. Some are shorter and go through the trees, while others are very long and let you fly over the cloud forest canopy. Here’s the breakdown: 5 cables are between 180-360 feet long (55-110 meters), 6 cables are between 521-1,082 feet (159-330 meters), cable number 6 measures 800 meters (2,624 feet), and the last cable is an impressive one kilometer (3,280 feet). The length variations make this tour unique because your speed changes by cable, making it a good option for people looking for different levels of adventure.
Tour Logistics and Accessibility
Selvatura uses traditional hand-braking where you hold the line with a gloved hand, but many people do not need to brake at all. Young kids hold the harness in front of their chest and don’t need to touch the cable.
The cables are grouped into a few sections with short walks on a concrete trail in between (10-15 minutes total). To reach a few of the platforms, you’ll need to climb some metal stairs.

Self-Guided Hanging Bridges
The combo tour also includes one of our favorite hanging bridge hikes in Costa Rica. Selvatura has 8 hanging bridges ranging from 180-515 feet (55-157 meters).
The main focus of this self-guided walk is enjoying the amazing panoramic views of the cloud forest canopy from above.
Between the bridges, you’ll pass through lush cloud forest along a fairly flat, well-maintained trail.
The hike is about 2 miles (3 km) and takes about 1.5 to 2 hours going at a slower pace.
*In the cloud forest, it can be difficult to spot birds and animals on your own. If you would like to learn more about the flora and fauna, we would recommend the combo with Guided Hanging Bridges.
Sloth Sanctuary Guided Tour
You’ll then take a short tour (30-40 minutes) of the Sloth Sanctuary on the same property. This is a huge enclosure that has around a dozen two-toed sloths. They have been rescued and are unable to be released back into the wild. The nicely maintained facility provides these animals a home that mimics their natural environment.
The sloths are often close to visitors as they go about their daily activities, climbing around and feeding, so this is a wonderful opportunity to see these generally elusive animals close up. You’ll have a bilingual guide to teach you about these amazing creatures.

Tour Details:
Cost of zipline tour, sloth sanctuary tour, and entrance to hanging bridges
2026: $148 per person adults; $132 per person students up to age 18 (ID required); $102 per person children ages 4-11. Rates plus 13% tax.
2027 (Starting Dec. 16, 2026): $157 per person adults; $141 per person students up to age 18 (ID required); $110 per person children ages 4-11. Rates plus 13% tax.
Add Superman (ages 15 and up; must be at least 55 kg/121 pounds and 1.55 meters/5’1″ tall): $12 per person + 13% tax ($13.50 + tax starting in 2027)

Restrictions (Ziplining)
Minimum Age: 4. Young children may go tandem with a guide. Read about our experience ziplining with our 7-year-old in our post, Selvatura Zipline Tour.
Maximum Weight: Zipline – 275 lbs (125 kg). Harness Measurements: 120 cm waist (47″); 75 cm leg (30″). Tarzan Swing (optional) – 198 lbs (90 kg).
For safety reasons, ziplining is not recommended for: (1) people with back, neck, bone, muscle, or heart problems, (2) people with recent surgeries (within one year – especially surgeries on legs, feet, knees, abdomen, back, neck, hands, arms, and wrists), (3) pregnant women, (4) people with any medical or health condition that may affect balance, coordination, or decision-making during the activity.
Other Wildlife Exhibits
Selvatura Park also has other wildlife exhibits that you can add on. These are short 30-40 min. guided tours. Just add a note to your order if you’d like to add any of these activities.
Butterfly Garden (2026: $25/adult, $22.50/student 12-18, $17.50/child 4-11; 2027: $27/adult, $24/student 12-18, $19/child 4-11): A huge atrium that has been specially planted with flowering trees and plants that butterflies love. You can see about 20 kinds of butterflies, including blue morpho and Costa Rica’s largest, the owl butterfly.
Reptile and Amphibian Exhibit (2026: $25/adult, $22.50/student 12-18, $17.50/child 4-11; 2027: $27/adult, $24/student 12-18, $19/child 4-11): Snakes, geckos, frogs, other kinds of reptiles and amphibians found throughout Costa Rica can be seen. The guide will take you around to the terrariums and explain each species and its habitat.
