Private Coffee-Chocolate Tour at North Fields Cafe
These types of tours are a fun and interactive way to get to know the local culture, and they only take a couple of hours. North Fields Cafe is a small family-owned coffee farm near La Fortuna. They have one of our favorite coffee/chocolate tours in Costa Rica.
On this private tour, you will learn all about coffee’s history and its importance in Costa Rica. You’ll get to walk the coffee fields, learn how the beans are processed, and then taste some rich coffee brewed in a traditional chorreador.
For the chocolate component, you’ll see the cacao fruit growing on the tree and learn about making chocolate too. You’ll even get to help make chocolate yourself and enjoy plenty of tastings. The plantation also has sugar cane that you’ll be able to sample.
Since this is a private tour, you will have your own bilingual guide and private transportation from your hotel or vacation rental if needed.
