Isla Chora Ocean Kayaking or SUP – Samara

This is an ocean kayak or stand-up paddleboard (SUP) tour with time for snorkeling.

You’ll start from the main bay in Samara and make your way across the calm cove to the small island just offshore. Isla Chora is a beautiful protected reserve with a pristine white-sand beach and tall backing of brushy vegetation.

On the island, you’ll have some time to snorkel along the reef near the shore. Snorkel conditions vary but usually you can see a good amount of fish. Sometimes sea turtles are seen on the way out to the island or while in the water as well.

Before heading back to the mainland, the crew will prepare a refreshing fresh fruit snack and serve drinks.

Paddle time: Approximately 20 minutes each way.

Cost: $52 per person adults; $42 per person children ages 5-12. Rates plus 13% tax.

Duration: 3 hours door to door from your lodging (approximate)

Includes: Round-trip transportation from your hotel or vacation rental in Samara or Carrillo, experienced bilingual guides, life jacket, all equipment, fruit, and drinks.

Minimum Recommended Age: 4. We did this with our then 5 year old in a double kayak and he did great. *Life jackets for small children are available.

Experience Level: Beginner. Ocean conditions are typically calm.
