Apami Wildlife Rescue Center
Apami is a wonderful wildlife center outside Tamarindo that rescues and rehabilitates birds and animals that have been injured, orphaned in the wild, or held illegally as pets. On a tour of their facility, you’ll learn more about their residents and have the chance to see them close up. The Center is 20-30 minutes from Tamarindo.
Some of the animals you may see are monkeys, big cats like an ocelot and margay, a crocodile, tamarins, birds like Scarlet Macaws, toucans, owls, and various types of green parrots. You’ll get the story behind each animal and learn how they are being helped. The Center has about 22 enclosures.
The wildlife tour is broken up with some information about Costa Rica’s history, culture, and environment. You can see some giant trees, an old sugar cane mill, and other interesting things. Our whole family really enjoyed the guided tour.
Your visit helps support the important work of this wildlife center.
