Hannah was the most amazing host. She warmly greeted us upon arrival and made us feel at home. We loved meeting other guests in the shared kitchen and common outdoor spaces. Our kids LOVED pool time. She pointed us to activities and shared aloe with my young son when he got a sunburn. Just lovely humans and a great vibe. We will back again for sure.

Somewhat secluded beach area about 15 minutes away from Samara. Great for couples or small families wanting to get away from it all. Playa Carrillo is a beautiful calm beach. There aren't many shops and limited choices for restaurants in the immediate area, but that's part of the charm of the town.

All was great.
All was great. This is my fifth time in Carrillo and the beach and sorroundings always clean and with safety environment. Getting to Carrillo is very easy, no chance to get lost. One of my favorites spots in Guana!

The beach is quiet and beautiful.
The beach is quiet and beautiful. There are no restaurants, but you can grill, if you have the patience. In the town, there are few restaurants, with delicious food (I highly recommend Hula Jungla). If you need to use the bus, you can take it every hour.

Perfect if you want to get away from the touristic beaches...
Perfect if you want to get away from the touristic beaches like Samara that are dedicated to American tourists. Beware of the crocodiles though, we were told a family lives in the river next to the beach and sometimes, when the weather is stormy, you can see them swimming in the ocean :-DLaurenceFrance

We had not intended to even visit Playa Carillo but we messed up our dates and had to book a last minute night in the Samara area and got this gem at Casa Sabina. The host, Vincent, was very welcoming. The room was small but well equiped. There was a fridge and a little stove, which we did not get to use since we were only there for 1 night but would have used if were there for longer. The room has its own patio and hammock, is in a quiet location and has air conditioning.RohannaCanada

The staff was exceptionally friendly and felt like family. The breakfast was delicious, casada, eggs fresh fruit and good coffee. Our room had a fantastic deck to hang out on and watch the monkeys come by and sit in the trees right outside our accommodation. The bed was extremely comfortable as well. We slept in the "Deluxe Family Suite" that is situated in a separate building with a private pool. It was very quiet and had a plenty of space, with a good wifi and a nice hot shower. Playa puerto Carrillo is just 5 mins walk away, and it is beautiful (and better than Samara beach). There's also an internal restaurant serving Argentinian steaks; we had dinner twice and everything was delicious. Highly recommended.

Steve and Eilene are great hosts with tips on places to see ,eat and just next door if you need anything. Very large suite with good air-conditioning, large pool with nice deck, washing machine and hang clothes to dry which doesn't take long. Need a car for this property, one of the if not best beach in Costa Rica at Carrillo would be good for kids, huge and never crowded, wouldn't hesitate to stay at this property againLionelCanada

He creates a great atmosphere at the hotel and would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it. But within a short driving distance of Sámara if you want to go be part of the things going on over there!
