Hi,
We are flying into SJO in late December, landing at 2:20 PM. According to all I’ve read here (and other places), we won’t be leaving the airport until 4:00 PM and thus we’ll only have 1.5 hours of sunlight by which to drive. Also according to what I’ve read here (and other places), it’s not a good idea to try to do even part of the drive in the dark, even if we have a GPS. So I’m wondering if you have any ideas of places to stay, for just one night along the way. I’ve found a couple of places in San Ramon that look fine, namely Vista Valverde. I figure it can’t hurt to ask if there are any other ideas.

Hi Rob,
We haven’t stayed there yet ourselves but Vista Valverde B&B in San Ramon looks like a nice choice. Another option would be somewhere in Grecia, which isn’t too far out of the way. We liked our stay at Mango Valley at the edge of a coffee farm there. Also not far off the main road is the town of Atenas.
