Hey Jen & Matt! I really appreciate your website. I am living in costa rica for 4 months and its been really helpful so far! My family (between the ages of 22-50) is coming to visit me from December 8th-16th. I’m having a really hard time picking places for the week that will show them all sides and the best places in CR. Hopefully you guys can offer me some help! I would also like to show them Bocas de Toro, is that worth the stretch with only a week? Hope to hear from you soon! Thanks!

Not sure how your plans are coming along or where you live. But a lot of people looking to get a sense of the country like to visit both the mountains and the beach. You could check out our One-week itinerary for an idea or our Top 10 Costa Rica Itineraries book has a lot of options that you mix and match based on your family’s interests. Bocas del Toro, Panama might be a little rushed if you include it with other destinations, but you can fly back and forth, which helps a ton with the travel time. Our book has one itinerary that includes it, so you could check that chapter out. Hope this helps and congrats on moving to CR too!
