I plan on bringing paper maps with us, but am wondering if we can rely on using map apps on our iphones as well? We plan to go from San Jose, to Arenal, Monteverde then Manuel Antonio. Can we plug in hotel addresses and expect to use our phones? thanks.

Hi Jen,
We recommend a combination of old school maps and GPS/Mobile App. Sometimes the electronics will try to take you a shorter way but the roads can be really bad. So it is best to plan out your route ahead of time and use the GPS or whatever to make sure you are on track as you go.
