Santa Teresa for us was a completely disastrous in terms of development. I cannot even imagine anyone wanting to live there. The scenery once you get beyond the mishmash of stores 3 centimeters from the really poor roads is wonderful. It is a surfer place and nothing more. I would not ever go back for any reason

Santa Teresa has the most beautiful beach.
Santa Teresa has the most beautiful beach. There are so many places to eat that have great food. Santa Teresa does not feel as crowded as some other beaches in Costa Rica, and I honestly feel very safe there. I would highly recommmend this place.

The property is amazing.
The property is amazing. The pool is super cute, the rooms are spacious and modern.
BUT the Beach Club/Restaurant charged us for things we didn’t order. We will always pay for everything we eat and drink but when things are added on our bills that we didn’t consume, we regretfully are super bitter. The hotel is looking into it and said they will get back to us. They have t yet.
Also, they advocate that they are an adult only hotel but there were kids at the restaurant and at pool.

Wooden shacks with corrugated metal roofs along a dusty dirt road. Restaurants use camping-style kitchens and where they get their groceries with absolutely no decent food market within at least two hours driving is their secret. There is absolutely no sewage system anywhere. Everyone just has a whole in the ground they call ‘septic system’. Just steps from the beach !! Would be interesting to have the water quality tested..

Lovely.
Lovely. Beautiful beach with soft sand, wonderful sunsets, great waves, a lot of nature.
A bit too many people (lots of surfers) and cars in some parts, but great offer in terms of cafes, restaurants, yoga and surf lessons.

As a solo traveler I like going to Santa Teresa, I feel very safe and it seems everyone is aware of the importance to look after each other, specially between women. The quality of the food served in every restaurant, coffee place or bar is very high, therefore, quality over price is fair. And the beach itself is very beautiful, and the sunsets are always amazing!

We really liked the location of the accomodation, its been close to the supermarket, beach, surf school, all the nice restaurants and coffee shops etc. Its easy to walk to all the directions of Santa Teresa. The shower water was warm which is quite rare in cheaper hostels in Costa Rica, so we appreciated it. Also the cleaning ladies come every day to do a basic cleaning which is also nice. The patio with a lot of seating and palms and a small garden is very pleasant.
Thank you! Coco Bungo has upgraded my experience in Santa Teresa so much which made me fall in love with it! The location is absolutely gorgeous, North Santa Teresa is the gem of the place. We were just a few steps from the beach and also Rocamar which is a great spot for food & drinks. The room was designed so beautifully and the staff was so friendly and helpful. Waking up hugged by a beautiful vegetation was a total treat. Highly recommended!
Very friendly staff, good vibes all day long, close to an amazing beach, good A/C in the room, nice common spaces, beautiful property. The best supermarket is around the corner. Free coffee in the mornings was a nice touch.
Staff organised a fun bonfire on the beach during my stay and had plans for more excursions later in the week as well.
Super friendly vibe in what we found to be the best part of Santa Teresa
Salty has a great vibe - the space is green and lush with lots of areas to sit and socialize. The women's dorm is wonderful - lots of privacy, high ceilings and spacious room, and double beds for the bunks.
Location is right in the middle of Santa Teresa, easy walking distance to everything you need and a beach access point is across the street. There is parking at the hostel which is very convenient.
Where to start?! This is a no-brainer for anyone looking for a beach break in Santa Teresa - you could spend your whole time in and around the hostel, enjoying the multiple-times-a-day yoga, having surf lessons or hiring a board, taking your free coffee down to the beach in the morning and soaking up the sociable but chilled atmosphere. We would definitely recommend to anyone going to Santa Teresa!
The hotel itself is incredible. However, is located up to a huge hill… our car couldnt get there so we had to walk everytime we wanted to go to the beach, eat, have breakfast… NEEDS TO IMPROVE THIS, because is a very nice place. If you are young, dont go here if you want party!!! The hostels are much better in that case, this is a place to relax and chill
Highly recommend this ''Little escape". Mike is a great host, super responsive and kind. The apartment is comfortable and stylish. Swimming pool is relaxing. We travelled with our baby and dog : it took us no time to fully embrace the lifestyle of little escape / Santa Teresa. Go for it!
the property is beautiful. views are amazing! the host was great. the only drawback is the driveway. long and very steep. we found it a bit scary in our small rental car-ended up only walking while we we in Santa Teresa, which was not popular for our teenage children.
The staff was just great! So friendly and helpful. The location was also great with the beach, restaurants, ATV and surf rentals, bakeries, ATMs and shops just around the corner! If you are looking for a nice and calm hotel near santa teresa/playa carmen this is the one!
Location was perfect for Santa Teresa, near the beach but high enough to feel as if you are in the jungle. Facilities were great, especially the pool. Staff were very helpful and able to book everything we needed for us, including a surf lesson with their instructor.
The hotel host was súper friendly and helpfull. We had no car and that was very difficult so the host gave us a ride many times! Also he gave us surf lessons he was very passionated about. He gave us also a lot of tips for Santa Teresa and around.
You will not find a better place to stay. The team at the reception will go the extra mile to make sure you have an excellent stay. There is an excellent vibe and the hostel has private access to the best beach spot in all Santa Teresa.
Perfect location in Santa Teresa beach, size, kitchen amenities, air conditioning, cleanliness, manager responsiveness - this place was absolutely perfect! We stayed for a week and thought about extending our stay the whole time!
Very friendly hotel owners with great advice about places, beaches and restaurants to visit if you do not know Santa Teresa.
Nice and welcoming atmosphere and only at 5 minutes' walk from the marvelous beach.
This is the BEST deal in Santa Teresa. It’s absolutely insane that you get this view and breakfast at this price!
Hotel was super clean and Javi, the host, was very attentive and a pleasure to be around!
